 People saying Subway is gross when half the food threads on here are about how great McDonald's and other drive-thru places are. I hate Mcdonalds. and Subway is RARELY fresh. Their bread rips too easily, their meatballs are in the runniest most watery sauce ever and their turkey tastes like rubber. |

There is a place in the Chicagoland area called "Firehouse". It's a great sandwich shop. It has a fire dept. gimmick. Best damn subs I've had, well cept "Heros" on Addison and Western. A hole in the wall that's been there forever.

Subway is one of the fast food joints I'll hit up. I barely even consider it fast food.
I don't know what the Subways around your areas are like but here I find their food fresh and yummy. I'll take a lean chicken sandwich over Burger King's slop any day.

Subway is one of the fast food joints I'll hit up. I barely even consider it fast food. I don't know what the Subways around your areas are like but here I find their food fresh and yummy. I'll take a lean chicken sandwich over Burger King's slop any day. Side note: I just had Burger King and it wasn't slop. Crisp chicken strips and crunchy french fries. Delicious |

Subway really isn't very good. If you manage to arrive when the bread is fresh, I know they bake it all day from frozen shit, but somehow it gets brittle super fast. The tomatoes are fucking not even close to ripe and the sub just tastes of whatever sauce you put on it anyway.
There used to be a place here called Doughboyz. It was a soup and sandwich place, everything was fresh, not a Wendy's or Subway bullshit fresh, homemade and delicious. Then, since it was locally owned, Pilsbury threatened to sue over the name and they closed up instead. Too bad. The place never did super great business from what I saw, which was a shame, because the food and coffee was awesome.

If something isnt made on a fucking assembly line, it cant get mass appeal it seems. The Subway near one of my 2 jobs is staffed with solely angry people. They don't take it out on the customers, but between customers I can hear them complaining about the job, or other coworkers, or any other random bullshit. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Right now my sub place of choice is Jimmy Johns. Mostly because they deliver when I can't leave work.

I've really come to appreciate Blimpie's over Subway. used to love Blimpie til I got a job there and was discriminated against. I sued them and that franchise went out of Business. Now there are no more Blimpie's near me so I settle for Quizno's and Nardelli's What did they do to you? |

The one in town I goto all teh time the food is usually pretty fresh. Plus the manager gives me double meat for free. He noticed that for about a year I was in there at least 2 times a week. And he also saw I usually had on a Chicago White sox hat. He asked me if I was from Chicago,which I am not. But I am a huge White Sox fan. Turns out he was from Chicago. So now everytime i go in he either gives me double meat for free or a free icee. |

Stand-alone Quiznos franchises are gone but some are being integrated into gas stations along with Subway franchises. It's an interesting concept and probably cheaper than keeping a dedicated deli staff. |
