Was there any opportunities or scenarios in which the orange goblin is a heel before Bash at the Beach 1996?

Here's three scenarios I came up with...I didn't do deep research about them, so they might not fit with the storylines at the time...just imagine your own backstories if need be ;D
1: Wrestlemania III: Instead of Andre turning heel and snatching the cross from Hogan's neck, Andre asks Hogan, as a friend, for a shot at the title...Hogan refuses. Hogan insists that Andre hasn't earned it. Andre goes up against the other top contenders to "prove himself", but Hogan runs in and ruins Andre's matches...then later, it's revealed that he fears going against a giant, and that he's cheated in order to dodge having to wrestle Andre.
2: Wrestlemania VI: Warrior wins the Royal Rumble and challenges Hogan to a match at Wrestlemania. Hogan agrees, but, in the next few weeks, at house shows and TV tapings, he realizes that Warrior is getting a bigger reaction than Hogan is, and he begins to resent the attention that Warrior gets.
"I told the kids about the training, the prayers, and the vitamins, brother! And what do I get? I walk into the arena, and all I hear are thousands of people chanting 'Warrior! Warrior!' Brother, Ultimate Warrior is just a wannabe Hulk Hogan! And all you fans should be ashamed of yourselves, man! Ultimate Warrior isn't ready to be Hulk Hogan, brother! And at Wrestlemania, I will show you, once and for all, that Hulkamania is the ONLY force in professional wrestling!"
3: Wrestlemania IX: Bret beats Yokozuna, and Hogan runs down to congratulate Bret, only to end up turning on him and laying him out. Hogan drops the big leg and has the ref count an unofficial three count, then takes the mic and tells the crowd that he is the TRUE champion...Bret isn't anywhere close to deserving of the WWF title...Hogan reminds the crowd that he beat Andre, he beat Macho Man, he beat King Kong Bundy despite having broken ribs, and that Bret hasn't done anything close to that...Hogan takes the belt and tells Bret that if he wants the belt, he's got to beat the Hulk for it...only then will Bret be truly worthy.

In 1990 he possibly could have turned heel at Wrestlemania with the Ultimate Warrior. Instead of the hug at the end he could have beat the shit out of him.

Dark Side Hogan.
Could have debuted him with a heel turn in WCW to really get people talking.

He eliminated Hogan fair and square and the crowd actually cheered it..then booed when he started acting like he got cheated, then helps Flair eliminate Sid...and suddenly Sid is the bad guy? Nice logic...

Well, Sid did later walk out on Hogan in a tag match.

There were a few times when I thought Hogan could have been a mega heel for the WWE. In 90, when Warrior was getting a better reception, the Sid angle and my favorite, his match with The Undertaker at the 91 Survivor Series. A good amount of the fans in attendance were jumping and cheering when we won. You would think that perhaps the fans were getting a bit bored with him but then again, it seems the WWE always wanted Hogan as a face. I mean, what was he, a heel for like two months between 1984 and 2002?

Theoretically, he could have. That doesn't mean he should have. Hogan being the third man was a real "holy shit" moment that really put the nWo over the top.

The Royal Rumble 92/ WM VIII period would have been a perfect time to turn him if he wasn't leaving for 10 months and if the other partner in the angle wasn't Sid. Because really I don't know if Sid could carry being the top babyface after the Hogan angle was done. And obviously the double turn would be about getting Sid over as the top babyface.

I always said that he could have totally turned heel by accepting DiBiase's offer to buy the WWE Title.
Then have Hogan when the tourney at WM IV, then have Hogan/DiBiase vs. Savage/Andre at Summerslam while building to WM V between Savage/Hogan with Savage winning the belt.

92 would have been a good time for him to go heel as fans were getting sick of his good guy act. If you watch his match with Undertaker from Survivor Series 1991 you'll see people turn on him and cheer for Taker. Hogan could have easily said that Sid was nothing more than a Hulk Hogan wannabe, how he tried to be him his entire career and plus he'd be paranoid that Jack Tunney is trying to make Sid Justice THE man..grooming him to take Hogan's spot.
But of course they fucked it up by making Sid the bad guy.

Let's replace the question "Could Hogan have turned heel prior to..." with "Could a heel Hogan drawn more money than a face Hogan prior to..." because that's the real question.

Uncensored 96 - Hogan turns on Savage and makes it 9 on 1. (Would have saved the show somewhat)

I'd say anytime after the Sid Justice Royal Rumble would have. I mean you can only hulk up so many times before people get bored.

Another opening would be during the Mega Powers break-up angle. They could've had Hogan turn on Savage and claim he was only partners with him so he can get close to Elizabeth.

I agree that the Sid angle would have been the perfect timing. I am glad things turned out the way they did though. if Hogan did become a bad guy in the WWF I wonder how much of the Hollywood Hogan character would have been created or if he would have gone for a different look/persona. The Hollywood Hogan character and look does seem to be the perfect step away from the Yellow and Red good guy.
I always wonder if Sting would have joined WWF while he was still the surfer persona, would we ever have seen the "Crow" inspired character.
