1. Favourite weapon that is usually included in most weapon based games? (Pistol, machine gun, knife, shotgun, sniper rifle etc...). The standard weapon you usually use most if available I guess.
2. Favourite non firearm weapon in video games?
3. Favourite weapon from a particular game or series?
4. Your least Video Game weapon?
..................
1. I like pistols and magnums but I always get excited when I reach the stage that shotguns become available. So for me the shotgun is my favourite weapon to use if available. I love how they usually allow you to blow somethings head off with one shot or blow a hole in somebody/something.
2. I love using baseball bats. Machetes are always fun but bashing things to a pulp with a baseball bat always gives me satisfaction.
3. The Cerebral Bore from Turok 2 is amazing in every way. All that brain matter and blood, yum.
4. I have never been a fan of grenades myself.

2. I prefer swords, and saws if they have them.
3. The Man-Opener from Fallout 3
4. The proximity mines from Goldeneye.

I don't know about 1 and 2..typically like blowing stuff up though.
3.Collector Partical Beam- Mass Effect 2, Umbra-Morrowind/Oblivion.
4.Not a big fan of mines in any game. I use them in Fallout 3 and New Vegas via pickpocketing because that's funny as hell but otherwise avoid them.

1. Machine guns are usually my favorite unless I have some highly explosive shells for a shotgun or some heavy-duty weapon. My all-time favorite is the chain gun, which I would spend many happy times with in GTA.
2 and 3 - Kratos' blades. I love those things!
4. I've always hated the lousy handgun that you usually get in the beginning of most action games. I also hate have to use brooms, etc to fight off some monster in Silent Hill.

1. Rapid Fire Machine gun that has slight zoom scope. Basically you're first Rifle in COD games.
2. Grenades?
3. Alien Gun in Turok Dinosaur Hunter. Looked like an atomic bomb going off.
4. Going to surprise people but Shotgun. No Range. I would rather long range snipe people.

I never got the third for some reason. I have played the PS2 Turok but it failed in comparison. I have been wanting to check out the PS3 Turok but am not sure. Have you played it and is it any good? Turok 2 had some of the best video game weapons of all time.

Im a pretty avid fan of the Medal Of Honor, Brothers In Arms and Call Of Duty games that cover the WW2 theater. Other FPS that I liked were Duke Nukem, and Star Wars: Dark Forces, it's sequel and Mysteries Of The Sith. Other games I had a passing interest in but haven't played in years were Doom 2, Quake 1 and Rise Of The Triad.
Out of that lineup I gotta go with:
Favourite weapon that is usually included in most weapon based games: The StG 44 or MP44 as it was also known. Of the MOH/COD/BIA games, the STG was the overall best weapon. Accuracy was always nop notch. 30 round clip and a decent rate of fire that is easy to manage. Usually 2 rounds would take anyone out.
2. Favourite non firearm weapon: The lightsaber from the Star Wars FPS games, easy.
3. Favourite weapon from a particular game or series: Liked the Devastator from Duke Nukem 3D. Good explosive projectile weapon for use in close quarters where the RPG would kill you too.
4. Your least Video Game weapon: The Webly And Scott Silenced Pistol from MOH: Frontline was a crap weapon. Horrible accuracy, you can be shooting at an enemy 10 feet away, and you can literally see the round go passed his head by a good 5 feet span. The Welrod in Rising Sun was a much better silenced weapon but had real slow loading time at 1 round per shot, but the enemies in that game were pretty lame so you could theoretically go through an entire level killing guys before they even get a chance to attack. One round usually did them in wherever you hit them.
Honorable mention for a shitty gun goes to the PPSH in Call Of Duty 1. 70+ rounds of ammo and the damn thing climbs all over the place. The bullets are like bb's anyway and you need a pile of them to kill anything. Gun was improved in MOH: European Assault.

I forgot to mention under favorites- The Rock-It Launcher from Fallout 3. It was fun as hell shooting random clutter at enemies, especially when people were ripped apart by teddybears and baseball gloves

It depends on the games. In Borderlands I like pistols and sniper rifles the most. Assault rifles as well and constant grenade spamming. I'm not big on smgs, shotguns or rocket launchers, but I'll use them from time to time if their stats are good and just because I always have ammo for them. My favorite weapon in Borderlands was the Orion sniper that fired three lightning bullets. The trick was to aim it right below their feet as all three lightning storms would catch them for mega damage. I got a sniper in Borderlands 2 that in zoom fires 15 shots for the cost of 10 ammo with the chance to do fire damage. Given the fire percentage on it being around 50%, it always hits.
In Halo, I prefer snipers and the marksman rifle. Also love the needler and a lot of the covenant weapons.
In L4D2, for the most part I don't care. I love the spaz (combat shotgun) and the SCAR the most. Unless I can find an AK47 with laser sights. Since I play on the 360, the sniper rifle is almost a waste to me, same with the silenced UZI. The plywood hunting rifle isn't bad as you can run and shoot a lot more accurately than with the sniper.
In Fallout, I like a lot of the pistols and rifles. The Ratslayer in New Vegas was one of my favorites, as well as the crappy silenced 22 for stealth kills and holding out. The Rock-It Launcher in 3 was great as mentioned, as was the railroad gun.
As for favorite non gun, I love the katana, fire axe and golf club from L4D2, Zed's Demise from Dead Island, Shiskebab in New Vegas, plasma grenades in Halo, area of effect grenades in Borderlands 2, and the fart grenades in Saints Row The Third.
As for least favorite, not big on mines (although, as mentioned, it's fun reverse pickpocketing them in Fallout) or guns with shit accuracy/low ammo.

I played the PS2 version a few times but I never got it. Surprisingly challenging for it's time and probably outside of Golden Eye the best shooter on the N64 and PS1 at the time.

1. I generally go for either a Combat Shotgun or a heavy machinegun.
2. Knife, or flashbangs
3. The Oh Baby Supersledge from Fallout New Vegas, the Monkey Bomb from COD WaW and Black Ops. Mega Man's Laser Trident from Mega Man 9
4. The Flash Stopper in Mega Man 2, like other than stopping the quickman lasers and hurting quickman, it serves NO PURPOSE!

1. Shotgun. It's my go to weapon of choice in any survival horror or action game. I'm not afraid to take on the devil himself in a game if I have a fully loaded, strong shottie to wield.
2. Gonna go with the Blades of Chaos from God of War. They're just fun to use for me. Honorable mention to the barbed wire flaming 2x4 from one of the SD games, and the pail from the SNES WWF Raw (hopefully someone over 25 can relate to this).
3. I really dug a lot of the innovative weaponry from the Resistance games for PS3, especially the hedgehog grenades. They had a bunch of cool stuff when the first game came out.
4. I never liked the sonic batarangs on Arkham City/Arkham Asylum. Maybe because I didn't know how to use them properly, or just didn't understand them, I'm not certain, but I never use those.

1) Anything capable of taking out baddies at extreme range, be it a crossbow or a sniper rifle. 2) Dagger. Fast attack speed, good for dual wielding (I grew up playing D&D with books, dices and all that jazz) and perfect for sneak attacks. 3) .308 sniper rifle from the Fallout series. Can take out anything at extreme range, ammo is plentiful and has a reasonable rate of fire. 4) Anything big and clumsy that promises to deal extreme damage. Ammo is always in short supply (if firearms) , they are usually clumsy to use and with low attack speed and I just cannot get on with them.

1.) Assault Rifle, if I have to use firearms I choose mid-range over all others... a close second would be akimbo pistols just to have quick reloading.
2.) Eastern blades like the Katana ("samurai sword") and the Ninja-to ("ninja sword" usually labeled incorrectly as Katana or "samurai blade")
3.) I'm not sure if this counts, but I can't recall any other games allowing you to do this... I love chucking mortar shells in World at War.
4.) Farsight XR-20 from Perfect Dark, severely overpowered railgun with a target locator function... it can turn games severely onesided for campers.

I'd love for a new game to feature a blunderbuss. Fable II and Torchlight both have them. They were pretty much my favorite weapons in both. In Fable II especially, they'd one shot kill pretty much everything but bosses.
