If Christian wasn't having surgery I would say he's a perfect opponent
It would give him credibility as a main eventer
He and punk are both some of the best in ring workers in wwe
Punk could go over without hurting either of them
And Christian could potentially get another shot at world title glory.
He's one of the most decorated wrestlers in wwe, holding 2 whc, 2 ecw reigns, ic, hardcore, LHW,european and a shitload of tag team titles
There is literally nothing that can go wrong with that, it would be like benoit vs angle in RR 03

Ryback isn't poison. Everybody needs to calm down. You say you want new stars, you get one and then you complain because you didn't pick him. Bingo. And we have the Paul Heyman factor. Think about it: Ryback "wins the title" at HiaC; the next night, Heyman and Punk cut a promo that somehow negates the title change. AJ comes out, demands that Ryback hands the belt back over, even though the win is still in the books and he is still "undefeated." Ryback hands over the title but demands a rematch for later that night; AJ obliges and books the match, which Ryback wins via disqualification, enabling Punk to retain and Ryback to remain without a loss. Easy-peasy. Sure, it's a bit screwjobby, but it keeps Ryback undefeated, puts heel heat on Punk and Heyman, allows Ryback to have a win or two over the current champion without actually having to carry a title reign, and keeps everything basically in place for Royal Rumble. I thought of that in two minutes. And in regard to "pissing off the fans" with a DQ or other non-finish: I hate to be "that guy," but the fans will eventually get over it, and the ones that "leave and never come back" were going to leave and never come back at some point anyway, so why not cut the losses? Make the most of a shitty situation. |

Ugh, you really want to start up the crappy Dusty Finish endings? All they do is piss people off. A DQ ending I can take, but reversed title wins are frustrating as hell, and adds nothing to the storylines. It sucked in the AWA, it sucked in the NWA and it would suck now too.

I don't hate ryback, but he can't headline a ppv at this time, put him in a fued with another rising star.
Curt hawkins could get destroyed and then bring in like guys he sends after Ryback in an attempt to end his streak, mason ryan vs ryback, there. Or put him against Miz, have him drop the ic title. Then set up a months long fued with barrett

Im not against DQ finishes, they can go with that, like, say, having Ryback go overboard and accidently get himself disqualified. Its frustrating, but not that level of frustrating.

I would much see Ryback Vs CM Punk than Christian Vs CM Punk. That's because I have never been a fan of Christian being around the main event. I guess CM Punk will get DQ'd and retain leaving Rybacks streak intact.
