With his teaming with Kane and godlike reactions, is Daniel Bryan still even a heel? I understand that getting face reactions doesn't make you a face here, but Bryan doesn't even seem to do anything heelish anymore, and it's obvious they're going to be fighting Rhodes and Sandow, a heel team, at Hell in a Cell.
So, is Daniel Bryan a heel still?

He seems to be in that murky palce wrestlers are in when they're in the middle of a turn. I also have a feeling they want him to be heel but by virtue of being so entertaining and over, the audience cheers him regardless.

He's one of the awesome heels that gets a face reaction. Kurt Angle had the same thing. You may have hated him, but damn if he wasn't so entertaining you couldn't stop cheering for him.

It seems like every single wrestler is a tweener which sucks
I like tweeners because it adds some realistic/literary complexity to wrestling and keeps thing sinteresting and unpredicatble, breaking the old formula of "heel vs. face".
But WWE doesn't seem to know how to do it. They don't have a string grasp on their own characters right now.
Part of me thinks people are tweeners (it's not as many as everyone is making it out to be) because the creative writing team is just that incompetent. It's accidential, not intentional. They don't seem to know how to write strong enough faces or heels.

And on top of that they have faces act like heels because the current generation of writers think that every babyface can do the kind of thing that Stone Cold or The Rock could do. They can't, those two guys were phenomenal balls of talent and charisma. Plus the current heels have nothing on Mr.McMahon. He was such a huge heel that Austin could do all but kill him and he'd remain a face. That's not the case today. What makes Punk a heel? Why is Cena the face? Is it just beacuse they've told us they are.

I was just thinking the other day, what is Cena's gimmick? I mean he's so bland he doesn't have one anymore, he had a gimmick when he was a rapper but what is his actual gimmick now? I mean Punk is the rebel from Chicago, Sheamus is the tough Irish Brawler, Orton is the Viper, ADR is the rich Mexican etc etc. But what is Cena? He's nothing, he actually doesn't have a gimmick.

I think Cena is supposed to be a blue-collar superhero/Boy Scout type. He's this generation's Hulk Hogan in jean shorts with some Austin lite distilled through PG (they give him enough indivuduality and edge).
I'd much prefer him as a rapper again. That was an identifiable gimmick and he seemed much more comfortable and natural in that role.

I would prefer a revamped look over everything. The jean shorts and merch shilling just looks stupid. Imagine having Cena walk out wearing actual wrestling gear and the merch? People would take an automatic interest. Wrestling's an appearance based business. Look what happened when Kane put a mask and wig on again.
