The "Dead or Alive" games.

What is your opinion on these games? I personally like these fighting games, but then again, I am a fan of fighting games in general. There aren't a lot of fighting games out there that don't interest me (In that few, I can think of Primal Rage and Bloody Roar, neither of which interested in me or cared for). However, what I like about DoA is the fast-paced action in it and the counter holds. Lots of guys may assume that one would play it for the girls. Hardly the case with me, though one of my favorite characters to use happens to be a girl and that is Tina, even though the other characters are useful.

The only one that I have not played is DOA1. I am thinking about buying an old XBOX soon and getting DOA Ultimate, even though I already have DOA2 Hardcore for PS2. I also think I should get DOA3. I did buy DOA5 recently. I like that game a lot, though I didn't like how Leon wasn't in the game.

As for the other games like Xtreme Beach Volleyball, well I will say this: that game is fan service if I ever saw it, but I actually thought that game was decent. I also enjoy playing beach volleyball games, particularly ones like Summer Heat Beach Volleyball and Outlaw Volleyball, but the volleyball mechanics were just decent at best. I still remember that bit in the game where your character crosses the pool on these blocks and to try to make it to the other side without falling into the water.

I like fighting games but mostly 2D ones for the most part. Big SNK fan, so DOA did nothing for me.

Eh, they were ok... my friends were trying to sell me on how intricate the game was, and all the skill it took, then I button mashed and kicked their asses for like 20 straight matches.

I liked the first DOA game on PS2 because you could kick people into different levels... but sadly that pretty much killed the other person so the fight didn't last long in the 2nd zone

DOA 5 looks incredible. Graphically that is. Plays a little fast for me, as a casual fan of the series. Also the character designs are a little lacking compared to Tekken and other games.

What I really do like about it is how non-restrictive the arenas are. Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter ring outs can be fun, but it's more awesome to knock someone out of a certain fighting area and then getting to continue on another plane.
