11 years after one of the greatest frontmen as well as a member of the greatest punk rock band ever died, Joey Ramone comes out with a new album! It's called "..ya know?". That was something Joey always said whenever he would give interviews and whatnot. It'll have a total of 15 songs:
1 Rock 'N Roll Is The Answer 2 Going Nowhere Fast 3 New York City 4 Waiting For That Railroad 5 I Couldn't Sleep 6 What Did I Do To Deserve You? 7 Seven Days Of Gloom 8 Eyes Of Green 9 Party Line 10 Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight) 11 21st Century Girl 12 There's Got To Be More To Life 13 Make Me Tremble 14 Cabin Fever 15 Life's A Gas
Here is the awesome cover:
and here is the first single off the album!
I can't wait for this album. I know a lot of these songs are demos and whatnot. But anything new from my all time favorite singer is fine by me.
Joey lives again!

I have been on a huge Ramones kick recently. Been listening to some of the bootleg live CDs i have. I wish I could find a live recording from any of the three times I saw them live.

I have a bunch of them as well. Where did you see them at? I have two shows that I was at and that was their Lolopoloza set back in June 1996 outside Chicago. It was on my birthday. Hell of a gift to see my favorite band together for the very last time on my bday. Plus Joey Ramones 4th of July Bash from 1997 at Coney Island High with Dee Dee Ramone. The greatest show I have ever been at. It was like inside an apartment with about 250 people. I was right in front of Dee Dee and he gave me his guitar pick and Joey shook my hand from the stage. Awesome time.
I downloaded just yesterday a set from New Hampshire back in 1985. Sounds so weird. Whoever was doing the soundboard added all these effets.

I saw them two times on the Lollapalooza tour. Plus saw them when they were touring as Pearl Jam's opening act. I wish I could have gotten to see them when they had both Richie and Dee Dee in the band. Cause the live stuff I have heard with Richie is my favorite live stuff.
But then Marky is my least favorite drummer they had. Plus in various interviews I have read/seen he comes off as a total asshole. Same with Johnny.
Nice. I would have loved to have seen that Pearl Jam show. Two great band together. I never saw Ritchie either. He is on tour as well doing the Ramones set. He was overseas the last I heard. I'd check it out for sure if he came this way. I liked the Ritchie era as well. I do like Marky though. I was actually lucky enough to sing "I don't care" on stage with Marky and The Intruders years ago. Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg sounds great. Give them a listen if you haven't yet.
LOL and Johnny was a total dick. He ran things like an Army for sure. You have to read his autobiography "Commando". It came out a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice quick read. He comes off as a bigger asshole than you can imagine. But he does make his points.
I can't stand Joeys brother Mickie Leigh. If you read his book, he comes off like he was the reason behind Joeys success. He thinks he should have been in the band just because he did a few "ooohs and ahhs" on the first album. That's why the new album has a different sound. He wanted it away from the Ramones style and make it more his own.

See when I saw the Ramones opening for Pearl Jam,after the Ramones left the stage I left. Mainly cause I had already seen Pearl Jam live 2 times. ANd plus while I like Pearl Jam I have never been a huge fan of them. I read Mickey Leigh's book last year and will agree he took way too much credit for some stuff. I need to read that Johnny book. I will have to see if the library has a copy. Also need to read the Dee Dee ramone book. Have you ever heard Dee Dee's rap album?
LOL oh yes I have heard his album. I have it on cd and I have the "Funkyman" EP. Fun stuff for sure. I can't believe he actually thought he would make it as a rap star with songs like "Mashed Potato Time" and "Commotion in the ocean". I do like "Poor little Rich Girl". That would have been an awesome Ramones song. I've read Dee Dees book as well. It's a weird read and some of the stories he writes about makes you scratch your head. There was once a Q&A with Marky and I asked him about Dee Dees book and he said that he lived in his own little world and not to believe everything he wrote. If it happened in Dee Dees mind? Then according to Dee, it's happend for real. Marky, too, is writting a book that's due out next year, I think. lol Dee Dee was also thinking about doing a blues album too under the Dee Dee King name. Dont know what happened with that. I can see all the B.B King fans buy it buy mistake!
You sound like me at the Lollapalooza concert. I went there to see Rancid and then Ramones and took off before Metallica. I wish I stayed because Cheap Trick was on next and Joey came out to sing with them.
If you get a chance, read Monte Melnicks book as well. "On the road with the Ramones". It's a nice read as well. Stay away from Dee Dee's ex-wifes Connies book "Poison Heart". It's along the same lines as Mickies. Yes. I've read a lot of books on the Ramones. LOL

At the Lollapalooza tour with the Ramones I only went to see the Ramones. I had seen Metallica on that horrible tour they did with Guns n Roses. And really to me the day Cliff Burton died Metallica also died.
I have been meaning to read Monte's book for awhile now. I just have so many damn books I have bought and haven't read yet. Just recently I was at a convention and they had a booth of paperbacks. 10 cents each and for every 5 your bought you got one free. Ended up spending close to 50 bucks on books that day.

Didn't Ritchie go insane or something and end up in Bellevue?
Or am I thinking of a different Ramone?
Fuck Fandango.

lol actually it was Joey who had a stint there. He checked himself in when he was youngers because of his OCD. Nobody had a clue what that even was way back then. The video "Psycho Therapy" was based off what he saw there. LOL this video was "banned" fro MTV for being too graphic.
Sweet on getting the advanced copy!
