So I stumbled upon a game called Tin Star at a local game shop the other day. It was priced at $2.99. It sparked an idea for a gaming blog where I play and talk about games, retro or modern, priced at $5 or less and determine if the game is some kind of hidden gem or deserving of its place in the bargain bin. Thus, the Five Dollar Gamer was born. I have a blog hosted at Wordpress with one episode up, where I in fact review the game that inspired the blog and a Facebook page for it. fivedollargamer.wordpress.com/www.facebook.com/5dollargamerSo take a look, let me know what you think. I am willing to take suggestions for games too, despite the backlog of games I have plans to review.

Thanks for the feedback! I have another episode in the works. I'll be posting the links to the articles and previews to the FDG Facebook page first, so if you so choose, give it a like!

Just read through all of these, great stuff. Thank you! I really hope whoever reads these enjoys reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. I've discovered some really great games doing this. I've got Episode 11 up. Which looks at Tak: Great Juju Challenge on GameCube.I should have the next one, Urban Reign for PS2, up later this week. It's the best game I've played for the blog so far.

Loving these. Some very odd and whacky games I have never heard of.

Hm. After giving your site a serious read over, I think you would do well to test out a shot at doing something in video format as well. It may feel like hopping into a "scene" since video reviews of games and movies all over the internet, but on the other hand that's the point. It can potentially spike your popularity and reach a wider audience (if you're good at that sort of thing).

It may feel like hopping into a "scene" since video reviews of games and movies all over the internet, but on the other hand that's the point. It can potentially spike your popularity and reach a wider audience (if you're good at that sort of thing). I have actually been talking with a few friends about doing so, but it's just a matter of scheduling and finding ways of making it interesting. If I do a video I want it to be different and not boring. It would be too easy to do a Let's Play where I talk entirely too close to the microphone and say things like "This is Level 1. Hit the A button to jump on this guy." We've discussed doing something similar to Continue? or Game Grumps where instead of a Let's Play it's just 2 or 3 friends playing a game and having fun. But like I said, that's been done and I don't want to be an incredible rip-off.
